Sébastien Letocart
Bruckner Symphony n°9
- Concert
Camerata RCO performs a special version of Bruckner's Ninth Symphony, with Belgian composer Sébastien Letocart completing the final movement and arranging the symphony for chamber music. His aim is to remain as faithful as possible to Bruckner’s original music.
Camerata RCO stays closest to Bruckner in this special performance, featuring a lot of new music. Belgian composer Sébastien Letocart completed Bruckner’s Ninth Symphony and arranged the other movements for the sixteen musicians of Camerata RCO. His goal: to stay as true as possible to Bruckner's original notes. A grand symphony reduced to its essence.
Bruckner’s Ninth Symphony is best known in its three-movement version, with the heavenly Adagio as the finale. However, incomplete sketches for a fourth movement exist. In 2008, Sébastien Letocart completed the Ninth Symphony based on these sketches. Now, he has arranged this version, along with the first three movements, into chamber music proportions for Camerata RCO.
