The Teis Semey Quintet reinterprets contemporary jazz as a grounded, visceral, and vibrant experience. Guitarist and composer Teis Semey is no stranger to inJazz, and we’re thrilled to have him perform with his own quintet this year. Teis describes the music he wrote for the quintet as “a representation of the New Nordic in synergy with guitar-driven contemporary indie-jazz.” His varied and versatile ensemble, each member active in and around the Amsterdam jazz scene, engages in lively interplay that reveals years of friendship.
