Kruidkoek - inJazz

Kruidkoek blends jazz, rock, and humor with a unique improvisational flair, drawing comparisons to Zappa, Ploctones, and even Nirvana.

"We play GarageJazz." That’s how Kruidkoek describes their sound, which they say could be compared to bands like Ploctones, Zappa, or a dark 1970s fusion group. Maybe even Nirvana if they had attended jazz school. This is the vibe you get when you ask the four members of Kruidkoek about their music. They gave a sneak peek of their unique style during their performance at inJazz 2016 in Rotterdam. Their blend of jazz and rock, complemented by a homemade light show and an abundance of improvisation and humor, definitely left an impression.

Kruidkoek was formed at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Zwolle, described as "a childhood dream gone wild," as they put it. Four friends who love making music without compromise, unbound by musical conventions or genre restrictions.
