Mehmet Polat blends the ud with brass and percussion, exploring new musical territory with his ensemble.
Mehmet Polat has established himself as a master of the ud, a Middle Eastern string instrument with a short neck that resembles the lute. However, Mehmet has expanded the instrument's range by adding two extra bass strings. Throughout his previous bands and projects, he has blended musical styles from various regions, but never before has he explored the combination of the ud with the trumpet of Gijs Levelt, the trombone of Efe Erdem, the tuba of Frans Cornelissen, and the drums of Joan Terol Amigo.
