From southern Spain to the streets of Rotterdam, the Juanfer Marrero Group blends post-rock with improvisation and pretty much anything that comes their way. Growing up in southern Spain, one might expect a deep connection to flamenco and folk music, but for guitarist Juanfer Marrero, it was his father's extensive 1970s record collection that shaped his musical upbringing. Fascinated by psychedelia and soundscapes, these interests have driven him since his youth, translating into a quest for musical experimentation. Juanfer Marrero pushes the boundaries of what the guitar should sound like, while playing with concepts of structure and tempo in traditional music.
