Boris Bezemer
Mountain
- Concert
Mountain by Boris Bezemer intertwines rhythmic, melodic, and digitally processed sounds, connected by a continuous pulse. The music's tempo feels different depending on how the pulse is grouped into larger or smaller units, creating a dynamic, evolving experience.
Boris Bezemer composed two new pieces for Ensemble Resilience, including the world premiere of Mountain. This piece is based on intertwining streams of sound: rhythmic patterns, melodic patterns, digitally processed sounds, and pedal tones. Beneath this tapestry, a rapid, continuous pulse ticks away, connecting the various threads through metric modulations. The listener perceives the tempo of the music as either slower or faster, depending on how the pulse is grouped into larger or smaller units.
The musicians of Ensemble Resilience:
Natalie Kulina – violin
Marco Danesi – clarinet/bass clarinet
Tomek Szczepaniak – percussions
Paolo Gorini – keyboards
The videographer was Eric de Clerq.
