Bill Dougherty

Dialogues à distance

  • Concert

Dialogues a Distance by Bill Dougherty uses fragments of virtual conversations between the ensemble and the composer to create a sonic reflection of our digitalized world, offering a personal and sarcastic commentary on modern communication.

Bill Dougherty composed Dialogues a Distance, inspired by the virtual communication between Ensemble Resilience and himself during the pandemic. Working remotely, the ensemble's screen-to-screen interactions with Dougherty (based in the U.S.) served as the basis for this piece. In Dialogues a Distance, he transformed fragments of their virtual conversations into a sonic reflection of the ensemble, offering a personal, yet witty and almost sarcastic commentary on our highly digitized world.
