Ghoti II
- Concert
In this special ensemble version of Ghoti, Heleen Hulst and Gerard Bouwhuis's duo work has been reimagined into a playful and textured piece, now featuring strings, piano, and percussion.
Heleen Hulst and Gerard Bouwhuis previously performed as the duo Ghoti, a name inspired by the diverse sounds in the English language: "gh" from enough, "o" from women, and "ti" from motion, which together form the sound of "fish." For this special occasion, Verduin has taken the concept of "fish" further, transforming it into "fish sticks," a playful reimagining of the duo’s most savory moments. These moments have been carefully crafted into a crunchy new version for ensemble. The performance features a blend of refined melodies and intricate textures, with the delicate interplay of strings, piano, and percussion creating a vibrant, multi-layered sonic experience.
