This quartet delivers melodic modern jazz, inspired by real-life stories and experiences. Led by 21-year-old saxophonist Femke Mooren, the band won the 2023 Princess Christina Jazz Concours. Known for her engaging compositions, Femke creates space for each member to shine, with the group's strong friendship enhancing their dynamic performances.

Femke Mooren’s Quartet plays melodic modern jazz, inspired by situations and stories that have happened in real life. Led by 21-year-old saxophonist Femke Mooren, the quartet from Rotterdam won the prestigious Princess Christina Jazz Concours in 2023. Their music is characterised by Femke’s clear and engaging compositions which allow each band member to shine. Beyond the stage, the quartet shares a special bond as a great group of friends, which clearly shows in the performance and enhances the dynamic expression of the band.

Besides her quartet, Femke also plays in the National Youth Jazz Orchestra under Maite Hontelé’s direction and performs with Peter Beets & Henk Meutgeert New Jazz Orchestra. In addition to this, she won the Women in Jazz Prize in 2023 and performed on major stages such as North Sea Jazz and the Aarhus Jazz Festival.
