Oorkaan is a leading, internationally operating institution with its own Oorkaan Ensemble, collaborating with guest ensembles and orchestras. We create theatrical concerts for young audiences, touching audiences of all ages. Oorkaan verrijkt zo veel mogelijk kleine en grote oren met de oneindige wereld van muziek. Muziek is van en voor iedereen. Muziek kun je verstaan zonder een woord te zeggen. Het raakt, schuurt, inspireert of irriteert, maar laat je vooral nooit onberoerd. Muziek schept ruimte voor verbeelding en verwondering. En als muziek gezamenlijk in een live uitvoering wordt ervaren, verbindt muziek. Muziekgezelschap Oorkaan (sinds 2001) is een toonaangevende, internationaal opererende landelijke instelling met een eigen Oorkaan Ensemble (sinds 2021) en werkt samen met gastensembles en orkesten. 

Oorkaanproducties spelen wereldwijd op (concert)podia en festivals als het Koninklijk Concertgebouw, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Konzerthaus Wien, BAM New York, A.S.K. Shanghai, RomaEuropa Festival, en bovendien voor scholen in heel Nederland.
