The New European Ensemble performed a program focused on Gaudeamus Award nominees and premiered Augustin Braud's Stargazer, inspired by Helen Frankenthaler's painting Star Gazing.
During Gaudeamus 2021 in September, the New European Ensemble performed a program at TivoliVredenburg focused on works by composers nominated for the Gaudeamus Award. The concert also featured the world premiere of Augustin Braud's Stargazer, commissioned by the ensemble itself. For this piece, Braud drew inspiration from the colors and subtle nuances of the painting Star Gazing by American expressionist Helen Frankenthaler. This video is part of a series of Gaudeamus 2021 videos, which will be released throughout December and January in a new collaboration between New Music Now and Gaudeamus.
