In AIR, Aart Strootman’s composition for the Songbook of Future Memories, the Baroque "Air" and the sounds of nature, like wind and wind chimes, merge into a beautiful instrumental piece performed by a talented ensemble.
For his contribution to the Songbook of Future Memories, composer Aart Strootman created six purely instrumental pieces, with AIR drawing inspiration from the Baroque "Air"—the instrumental aria found in many suites. The piece also incorporates the sounds of wind over the sea and wind chimes, creating a unique blend of classical and natural elements. The performance features Sebastiaan van Yperen conducting a talented ensemble, including Ana dos Santos Silva Ribeiro (flute), Marieke Schut (oboe), Jan Harshagen (French horn), Joseph Puglia (violin), Jieun Kim (viola), and Wilma de Bruijn (cello).
