Aeolus Vocal Trio

Real-time composition

The Aeolus Vocal Trio will present a real-time composed piece, created in the moment.

The Aeolus Vocal Trio will present a real-time composed piece, created in the moment. In Greek mythology, Aeolus was the guardian of the winds. The Aeolos Vocal Trio consists of three singers whose performances play with breath and wind. They explore the interplay of vocal and physical expressions through improvising in real time. Compositions are crafted by being present and tuning into themselves and each other. Alongside free improvisation, they incorporate texts from written poems and music into their performances.

The Aeolus Vocal Trio consists of soprano Madeline Saputra, who is pursuing her master's degree at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, and mezzo-sopranos Femke Hulsman and Stefanie Bruggeling who are finishing their studies at the Dutch National Opera Academy. The three of them are students of Sasja Hunnego. The trio is coached and directed by Virág Dezsö based on her approach in Musicality of Movement towards real-time composition. Dezsö is a modern mime artist with a strong dance background and the artistic leader of MAPA (est. 1993), the Moving Academy for Performing Arts.
