'Two Pieces for Two Pianos and a Trio' (242*+13) is a sonic exploration deeply rooted in the times we are living in. Scored for two pianos, harpsichord, vibraphone, double bass, and electronics, the piece provides a framework for the ensemble to experiment with sonic elements such as homogeneity, multidimensionality, and post-industrialism. Composed during a period of growing uncertainty and personal crisis in relation to the world, the work channels complex emotions – moral contradiction, disorientation, anger, and, to some extent, hope.
Ignacio Pintó is a double bass player and composer from Spain. With a jazz background and increasingly engaged with contemporary music. His work blends complex rhythmic structures, a personal approach to serialism, and non-idiomatic improvisation in the search for sonic meaningfulness through sound. He leads Fournitura, an Amsterdam-based quintet that explores the edges of experimental jazz and new music through a powerful instrumentation full of possibilities.
Fournitura:
Ignacio Pintó contrabass
Aleksander Sever vibraphone
Katerina Orfanoudaki harpsichord, piano
