Bram Stadhouders
ORBIT
In ORBIT, Bram Stadhouders pushes the boundaries of spatial sound by composing for classical percussion and electric guitar in a surround setup, building on his previous work with a surround-guitar technique.
ORBIT is a project by guitarist/composer Bram Stadhouders, who has developed a technique for improvising on a ‘surround-guitar’ using computer software in a live concert setting with a circular arrangement of 10 speakers surrounding the audience. Now that Stadhouders has mastered the basic techniques, he aims to take the next step in his exploration of spatial sound by composing a work for classical percussion and electric guitar in a surround setup. The goal is to create a higher level of complexity and layering through the guiding force of a written composition.
