With his Tree House project, Felix Schlarmann presents a large ensemble that reflects the diverse and international jazz scene in the Netherlands. The development of the repertoire and the overall sound of the band is centered around a collective process. After the try-out in Amsterdam in April, Felix remarked, "I am amazed at how these unique artistic personalities have quickly found common ground in new music. The members, all creative individuals, contribute something to the music, making Tree House more than just the sum of its parts." In the unusual instrumentation of the ensemble, two saxophones and vocals complement each other, merging into the colorful layers of guitar and piano. The musicians create space for each other while continually maintaining the balance of the group’s unique sound.
