For November Music, Rembrandt Frerichs was tasked with composing a special piece, a challenge he eagerly embraced. In this genre-defying, globe-trotting composition, Frerichs brings together an eclectic group of musicians from various musical worlds. Accompanied by his regular jazz trio—double bassist Tony Overwater and percussionist Vinsent Planjer—Frerichs is joined by the renowned Cello8ctet Amsterdam, whose members are well-versed in both contemporary and classical repertoires. The ensemble is further enriched by the special guest Hossein Alizadeh, hailed as one of the leading Iranian composers and musicians, known for his mastery of the Persian lutes, tar, and setar. This exciting collaboration promises a deep, spiritual sonic adventure to close the festival.
