Pavadita Tango Strijkkwartet

Pueblo

In Pueblo, the music of the Pavadita Tango String Quartet accompanies a film about abandoned small towns and the hope for revitalization. Inspired by images of Argentina, it reflects on the emotional pull of these disappearing places and the potential future where technology allows a return to smaller, more intimate communities. Directed by Udo Prinsen, with performances by Sophie de Rijk, Claudia Valenzuela, Alex Welch, Maria Sofia Espiga, and Eva van de Poll.

Pueblo is a melancholic film inspired by the tango elements in the music performed by the Pavadita Tango String Quartet. The research and conversations around Argentina, a country the director knew only through hearsay, led to discovering stunning images of abandoned towns set against the diverse landscapes of Argentina. These images sparked the creation of a film exploring a universal theme: small towns being deserted as people move to large cities in search of work. Yet, there is hope for the future — technology could enable people to work remotely from distant locations, and a new generation may rediscover the emotional value of small-town life. The film reflects on the themes of abandonment and hope, perfectly paired with the music of Sophie de Rijk, Claudia Valenzuela, Alex Welch, Maria Sofia Espiga, and Eva van de Poll of the Pavadita Tango String Quartet, directed by Udo Prinsen.
