Maxim Shalygin

ANGEL

This audiovisual work, featuring Merel Vercammen (violin) and Maya Fridman (cello), reflects on the relationship between humans and nature, created by Maxim Shalygin. The music is dedicated to Giya Kancheli, supported by Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds & Cultuurmakersfonds.

Covid-19 has caused much trauma, hardship and unrest to billions of people around the world. It  changes the way we think about a wide range of subjects, including the way we treat nature. At the same time, it also provides an opportunity to reflect on our own lives, think about what is important, and discover new ways in which we can reduce our impact on the planet. There is an opportunity to limit future pandemics and minimize the impact of the climate crisis. This audiovisual work is an artistic view on relationship between man and nature.

Music is in memory of Giya Kancheli.
With the financial support of Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds & Cultuurmakersfonds.
