The New European Ensemble performed a program centered on Gaudeamus Award nominees, featuring Jenny Beck's Long It Glows, a meditative piece inspired by nature and breathing techniques.
During Gaudeamus 2021 in September, the New European Ensemble performed a program at TivoliVredenburg focusing on works by composers nominated for the Gaudeamus Award. Jenny Beck, whose inspiration often comes from non-musical sources such as natural sounds and breathing techniques, presented her piece Long It Glows. The work is elusive and meditative in nature. This video is part of a series of Gaudeamus 2021 videos, which will be released throughout December and January in a new collaboration between New Music Now and Gaudeamus.
