Robert Jan Stips
Hjuvi
- Orkesten
Hjuvi explores a musical journey through rooms of a house, with orchestral arrangements of Nits songs and a captivating performance by the Radio Symphony Orchestra, led by Jan Stulen.
The majority of the music for Hjuvi was composed by the classically trained Robert Jan Stips, with notable exceptions including a percussion-only piece composed by Nits drummer Rob Kloet, and four vocal tracks written by the three Nits members. These vocal pieces are orchestral versions of songs from their album Ting. The album's concept follows the journey of a young boy named Hjuvi as he moves through different rooms of a house, each room representing a unique atmosphere, sense of time, and influenced by a specific composer or musical style. Featuring Henk Hofstede on vocals, Rob Kloet on percussion, and Stips on piano, the performance is accompanied by the Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jan Stulen.
