Basklarinet Festijn

The Basklarinet Festijn celebrates contemporary bass clarinet music, bringing together specialists like Louis Sclavis, Rudi Mahall, Fie Schouten, Tobias Klein, Lothar Ohlmeier, and Oguz Büyükberber. In this unique 6-tet performance at Bimhuis, they explore both composed and improvised works.

The Basklarinet Festijn is a biennial event focused on the bass clarinet in contemporary composed and improvised music. The concert on December 18, 2022, at Bimhuis marked the final concert of its 4th edition, which began in 2020. For this performance, six bass clarinet specialists came together, performing in various combinations—some long-standing duos, others first-time encounters. What was particularly new: the ensemble performed as a 6-tet!

The Basklarinet Festijn organizes concerts, commissions new works, and brings together international bass clarinet specialists.

The ensemble for this concert included: Louis Sclavis, Rudi Mahall, Fie Schouten, Tobias Klein, Lothar Ohlmeier, and Oguz Büyükberber.
