Amsterdam Klezmer Band

Founded in 1996 by alto saxophonist Job Chajes, the band performs klezmer music (Eastern European Jewish music) with influences from Balkan traditions. The band has played at prominent festivals such as Oerol, North Sea Jazz, and Lowlands and has toured internationally, performing in 29 countries. Their repertoire consists primarily of compositions written by the band members themselves, blending influences from gypsy music and jazz, making their sound difficult to categorize.
On September 15, 2022, the Amsterdam Klezmer Band celebrated the grand finale of their 25th anniversary at Paradiso.
