The MAZE Festival 2026
The MAZE Festival 2026 on 24 and 25 October 2026 will be in Splendor Amsterdam with the theme: 'Memory and listening as an attitude. We all change all the time.'
The MAZE Festival presents performances and installations that question conventional concert forms and invite our audiences to experience music from new and shifting listening perspectives. It is a recurring event for experimental music. Each edition is organized around an artistic theme. While the previous festival edition (2022) focused on the concept of space in music, the 2026 edition will explore memory, dream, and collective imagination as compositional and performance forces.
There will be concerts, participatory works, and shared listening situations where musicians and audience can encounter sound in many different configurations. You will be sitting, moving, coming close and far away to one another, feeling your individuality and collectivity. Rather than a series of standalone concerts, the festival is a listening environment that encourages visitors to reflect on how they listen and how meaning emerges through sound.
International guest performers will be Silvia Tarozzi from Italy , Deborah Walker from Germany, and Julia Eckhardt from Belgium performing works by Éliane Radigue and themselves. Information about other guests will come in our fall newsletter.
There will also be works by Yannis Kyriakides, Peter Ablinger, Christian Marclay and premieres of works commissioned by MAZE by Jasna Veličković, Anne La Berge and Dario Calderone.
