Emir Cello (Alfian Emir Adytia) is a cellist, performer and composer active across Europe and Asia. His genre-defying work—blending classical, rock, metal, and Indonesian folk—challenges imperial cultural narratives and forges deep cross-disciplinary connections, most recently through his album Decolmuseum (2025) and his live trio with Turkish bassist Kaan Yazici and Dutch drummer Sander van Elferen. Dubbed the “Jimi Hendrix of the cello” and a leading voice of the “New Indonesian Wave,” Emir creates high-energy, immersive performances that move between bodily ecstasy and spiritual transcendence.
