Orkest De Ereprijs
Orkest de Ereprijs & Konstantyn Napolov
In the November Music concert, Orkest De Ereprijs and Konstantyn Napolov present a new spectacle with works from five international composers, pushing the limits of percussion in a nearly one-and-a-half-hour musical marathon, featuring 76 instruments, techniques, and drama.
In this November Music concert, Orkest De Ereprijs and percussionist Konstantyn Napolov join forces for a spectacle featuring brand-new music.
Five international composers wrote works for the combination of percussionist and the unique ensemble of De Ereprijs, which features numerous brass instruments and guitars. Konstantyn Napolov is the energetic center of this musical marathon, where he pushes the limits of percussion. According to Napolov, this marathon is almost impossible to complete… a grueling endurance challenge of nearly one and a half hours, never before seen in the Netherlands.
In this ambitious performance, the percussionist collaborates with Orkest De Ereprijs to perform new works by five renowned international composers: Moritz Eggert (Germany), Peter Adriaansz (Netherlands), Tansy Davies (UK), Dutch Composer of the Year Martin Fondse, and rising talent Martín Francisco Mayo (Venezuela/USA/Netherlands). Their compositions incorporate percussion instruments and anything else that can be used, as if they’ve unearthed them as archaeological discoveries. Konstantyn Napolov plays their music theatrically, creating an incomprehensible mix of no less than 76 instruments, music styles, techniques, and drama.
