Miran Noh, a jazz pianist from South Korea, leads a band with a strong classical background called NOHMI. Listening to their music is a challenge, as listeners are encouraged to decipher the prominent motif from the start, observing its development through multiple polyphonic layers as the composition unfolds. The band's work is influenced by classical composers such as Ravel, Debussy, and Prokofiev, who explored mood and atmosphere through timbre, orchestration, and progressive harmonic concepts. NOHMI's 2022 album A Bird at the Edge blends these classical influences with jazz elements. All band members are based in the Netherlands.
